The Nelson Buskers Festival brings award-winning street performers from around the world to our beautiful city for four days of action-packed shows at four different venues!

 

The 2020 artists are: 

Sara Kunz (Hawai’i) - acrobatic hula-hoop and contortionist.  Having delighted audiences in more than 10 countries and performed in six languages, this family show is loved around the world.  Acrobatic hula-hoop performance, contortion, and interactive comedy and improvisation all come to an exciting finale upon a 15’ high coconut tree you have to see to believe.

Quatuor Stomp (Canada) - four-man creative powerhouse that combines circus, variety and, above all, comedy into explosive and colourful performances!  Internationally renowned for their originality and versatility, their relentless energy has been conquering thousands of people worldwide since 2008. Presenting a unique blend of skill, humour and charming craziness, these artists bring their high-level acrobatics together in captivating performances for thrill seekers of all ages, leaving everyone touched and amazed.

Imre Bernath (Hungary) - preeminent street clown. Imrie’s performances feature hilarious interactive and visual comedy, alongside world-class acrobatics. Having performed in 13 countries across four continents, Imre has collaborated with numerous dance and circus companies, and toured theatres, street festivals and big tops throughout Europe. Imre resides in London UK, where he performs regularly in the world-famous Covent Garden.

Pancho Libre (Mexico) -  explosive acrobat and circus artist. Pancho performs on the Chinese Pole, Cyr Wheel, Feicha and with fire at festivals worldwide.  Bringing energy and fun to festivals and street shows around the world, his performances incorporate amazing strength and skill with comedy and laughter to captivate and inspire audiences!

Martika Daniels  (USA) - one-woman stunt show.  Martika takes the audience on a journey complete with escape stunts, barbed wire hula hooping, juggling, silk fans, sword-swallowing, fire-eating – all with an air of being an international woman of mystery! Impossible to pin down in one description, Martika’s show contains such an extraordinary range of diverse elements you can't miss it!

The top of Trafalgar Street will come alive with buskers from all over the world. Join us for some hilarious, weird, wacky, eye-opening acts in the heart of the city. What more could you ask for, family-friendly street performances, cafés to get a bite from and beautiful hanging baskets and trees to linger under?

Join us for a cabaret night when the Buskers let down their hair – and perhaps a bit more. Sit at the front – who knows what might happen! Restricted audience rating as content can be unpredictable.
